School, Sunshine, and Sticks o' Memory

Yay alliteration!

Anyway, on with the bloggage. Is that a word? If not, it really should be.

School tomorrow, I'm really not looking forward to it. I may get to see people, but I once again have to put up with the idiots that populate my school. When will they realize that being a geek is -not- a bad thing? It's as if they're laughing at me for being better than them, and for the fact that I will most likely have a better future. Great thinking.

In other, less bitter news, I popped into town to see Sunshine today, and I must recommend it to all you film folks. It's a brilliant Sci-Fi film, and it even has an actor that looks a little like our very own Guy Parsons. While I was there, I also bought a shiny new Triforce t-shirt, and was recognized on the street by a random person (If it was you, please let me know).

As for sticks of memory, well it's really memory cards, but that doesn't begin with an s. I ordered 2 1GB microSD cards for my phone on Saturday so I can get some more music for the iTunes on said phone (Only £7.50 each, bargain! And they're so amazingly small!). It's much easier than the brick I usually carry around.

And finally, I must shake my fist at SB for getting me addicted to Within Temptation. I wasn't expecting it to be this good.

(no subject)

Bah, forgot to post yesterday, was busy Skyping and forgot that I was meant to do this. I'd come up with some excuse about being busy, but I'd feel silly doing that.

Off to see Sunshine tomorrow, yay! Only problem is that I have to get out of bed before noon for the first time in 2 weeks, but it'll help for when I start school again on Tuesday. Silly school.

Recently I've discovered the joys of not watching television, I can feel my IQ rising from not watching all this drivel that's being shown these days. I'll turn on to watch Doctor Who and the occasional film, and that's it. If there's anything else I want to watch I'll download it. Of course, I still have to use the TV for the Wii, but that's a given.

In other news, I'm still trying to find some sort of job, or another way to make money, there's far too much stuff I want but can't afford. Mainly video games, damn this next generation for making games fun again. Between the Wii, and Guitar Hero, I will have no money left by the time I have everything.

Sorry for making this all ranty, I should have something else to talk about tomorrow.

Still installing Windows

Well, not so much installing, as configuring. This could take a while. I need to move all the files -back- across the network at 100Mbps. That's shockingly slow for of files, I've got about an hour to wait :-/.

Luckily I have a firewall, antivirus etc. installed, so I'm thinking of just installing Firefox, MSN and all that other nonsense my family say they need. It's incredible how much work it takes to set up a Windows box.

I may blog again today, as I said earlier, I have very little else to do. (By the way, is anyone actually reading this? Or am I rambling to myself?)

Installing Windows = Epic Fail

I've just spent the past 5+ hours reinstalling Windows XP on the family PC (that I never use) at the request of my father, after he noticed that it had become painfully slow and full of crap. There were several surprises along the way.

#1: Out of over 100GB of stuff on the hard drive, I managed to back up 8GB of stuff.
#2: Reformatting took 1:30 hours, far longer than expected.
#3: The time estimate on the setup was overly generous.
#4: Computer chairs are -great- for relieving boredom.
#5: The setup program managed to work out the date and time perfectly.
#6: The Dell Resource CD doesn't work. Grr.
#6: Dell don't totally suck with drivers, yays.
#7: Microsoft have released a -lot- of updates.

That's all for now, I'll probably end up posting again today, as I'm feeling very bored.

First Post!

Hey folks,

So I've had this LiveJournal here for a while, I've added posts, I've removed posts, I've changed everything. but no matter what, I haven't actually used it as intended. As a blog. So here goes. I promise that every day, no matter how dull and pointless the entries are, I will post on this blog. I'll try to do this for at least a month to start with, then take it from there.

To start with then, I'll post a little about myself. I'm 15 years old, but have often been told that I'm more mature, and look older than I actually am. I spent a large amount of time within the ARG community under a false identity, but that's all behind me now and would appreciate it if no-one talked about that.

As you can probably tell, I'm quite a veteran of the ARG scene, focusing mainly on I Love Bees, Last Call Poker, and Perplex City. I'm currently a volunteer mod for the official Perplex City forums, and am quite proud of that fact. I also used to host a small quasi-PerplexCity-related show (Ask MasterCheese) that is now on an indefinite hiatus.

I think I'll leave it there for now. I'll use this as a basis if I ever run out of stuff to post on this blog.
